Eligibility Criteria for University of South Australia Scholarships
For RTPi and ERS Scholarships:
- Must be an international student
- Demonstrated high academic achievement and research potential
- Meet UniSA’s entry requirements for research degrees
For IRTS Scholarships:
- Must be a commencing international research degree student
- Demonstrated strong research capability
- Supported by a qualified supervisory panel
- Enrolled in a research-rich environment
- Must hold a fully externally funded stipend scholarship
- Meet UniSA’s eligibility requirements
UniSA offers three primary scholarship programs for international research students:
1. Research Training Program International (RTPi) Scholarship
- Stipend: Minimum AUD $32,500/year (2023 rate), paid fortnightly
- Tuition Fee Waiver: Up to 3 years (PhD) or 2 years (Master of Research)
- OSHC: Singles cover via UniSA’s preferred provider (BUPA)
- Thesis Allowance: Available
2. Enterprise Research Scholarship (ERS)
- Stipend: Minimum AUD $32,500/year (2023 rate), paid fortnightly
- Tuition Fee Waiver: Up to 4 years (PhD) or 2 years (Master of Research)
- OSHC: Included (BUPA)
- Thesis Allowance: Available
3. International Research Tuition Scholarship (IRTS)
- Tuition Fee Waiver: Up to 4 years (PhD) or 2 years (Master of Research)
- OSHC: Not included (must be arranged by student)
