Want to study in Berlin without paying course fees? The TU Berlin President’s Scholarship, offered directly by Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), gives one exceptional international applicant free tuition for an on-campus course at the TU Berlin Summer School. The award is open to currently enrolled students, graduates, and working professionals living outside Germany. It covers the full course fee for a single on-campus summer school course but does not include travel or accommodation costs. TU Berlin awards this scholarship to one applicant only each year.

This is not a degree scholarship. It covers whichever on-campus course the winner selects from that year’s TU Berlin Summer School catalogue. Course topics vary each year and have included data science, programming, entrepreneurship, space mission design, renewable energies, and construction project management. Since the catalogue changes annually, applicants should check the current on-campus course list on the official Summer School page before choosing a course.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be currently studying and enrolled as a student at the time of application
  • Must reside outside Germany
  • Must meet TU Berlin Summer School’s general admission requirements
  • Must have completed at least one year of university study or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional work experience
  • English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR level B2

How to Apply?

  • Register through the official TU Berlin Summer & Winter School application portal and select the on-campus course you wish to attend. Scholarship applications can only be made for on-campus courses.
  • Complete all required registration steps, but do not pay the €60 registration fee if you are applying for the scholarship.
  • Combine the following into a single PDF (max 5 MB) and upload it in the “Documents” section of your application:
    • Motivation letter (approx. 1–2 pages)
    • CV (max 2 pages)
    • Official transcript of records
    • Recommendation letter from a professor (recommended, not mandatory; unsigned letters are not accepted)
  • You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of submitting your application. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.
