Hold a recent PhD in the social sciences, or nearly finished one? The Academy Scholars Program at Harvard’s Weather head Center for International Affairs offers a fully funded, two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Each year, the Harvard Academy selects five to six early-career researchers whose work pairs social science expertise with regional and language knowledge outside the US or Canada. The program is open to applicants worldwide. Applications for the 2027–2028 cohort close September 18, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
- PhD (or equivalent) awarded within two years of the start date, or advanced doctoral candidate
- Degree conferral documentation required if dissertation is still in progress
- Not eligible if currently holding or having completed another postdoctoral fellowship
- No citizenship restriction
- Strong social science discipline + regional/language expertise outside the US/Canada
- No minimum GPA or TOEFL/IELTS/PTE/Duolingo score required English proficiency is shown through the writing sample and proposal

- One scholarly writing sample (max 50 pages, in English)

- Three letters of recommendation (uploaded by recommenders after you submit)
