This scholarship opportunity, offered annually, consists of two awards for undergraduate students entering their first year in any discipline during the fall term. It is important to note that the awards are renewable for the second, third, and fourth years, contingent upon recipients maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.60 or higher, based on a minimum of 24.00 units completed in the preceding fall and winter terms.

Payment Information:

For most award competitions, the funds are distributed in two equal payments over the fall and winter terms and are automatically applied to unpaid tuition and fees. Any excess award funds are processed at the end of August (Fall Term) and at the end of December (Winter Term) via direct deposit to the recipient’s bank account.

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship:

To be eligible for this undergraduate award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrate academic excellence
• Be an international student who is not a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
• Be entering their first year in any bachelor’s program during the upcoming fall term
• Be a financial need and fee-paying student
• Maintain a GPA of 2.60 or above over a minimum of 24.00 units in the prior fall and winter terms
• Continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student
• Provide proof of English language proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or equivalent
