All About SAU (South Asian University)
SAU is established in 2010 by the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), which are; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. In addition, SAU aims to promote regional cooperation and integration among South Asian countries through higher education. Furthermore, it searches to foster intellectual growth, cultural understanding, and collaboration among students and faculty from South Asian Nations.

The programs SAU offers postgraduate and doctoral programs. The university currently offers programs in Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Development Economics, International Relations, Legal Studies, Sociology, and more.
Scholarships: SAU offers scholarships to meritorious and deserving students from SAARC member countries.

Faculties:
Computer Science: The University established the Department of Computer Science in 2010 as part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. Additionally, it is a vibrant department that offers post-graduate and PhD programs in Computer Science. The department has designed a modern curriculum to equip students with theoretical, analytical, and practical skills in the latest IT techniques. The department takes its responsibility seriously in producing skilled professionals who can meet the challenges of the global industry and research needs of SAARC nations. The dedicated faculty members play a crucial role in achieving this mission. The department has seen continuous progress and its students have made significant contributions worldwide. To further enhance research activities, the department offers a Doctor of Philosophy program with an option to exit with an M.Phil. degree. The Master’s program also includes a rigorous research project to contribute to new research areas. Finally, the department has established high-end labs to support research work.
Mathematics Department: The Department of Mathematics was founded in 2012 with the goal of being a research-focused department that addresses the need for applied mathematics research. Recognizing the widespread applicability of mathematics in various fields, the department initially offered an MSc program in Applied Mathematics. The curriculum of this program is regularly updated to ensure that students are well-prepared for careers in industry or academia. In 2013, the department also introduced a PhD program, with the first batch of 8 students making good progress.
To provide students with exposure to the latest research, the department organizes academic activities such as symposiums and instructional workshops. Additionally, lectures and seminars by renowned mathematicians are a regular occurrence.
The department boasts a strong team of academicians who are dedicated to research and teaching. Currently, there are eight faculty members in the Department of Mathematics.
