Unisfere Research Fellowship Overview:

The Unisfere Research Fellowship is a program that aims to enhance the research, digital literacy, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills of bachelor students and recent graduates. It fosters a research culture and supports sustainable development in Afghanistan. Participants will have the opportunity to learn research methodologies, develop their digital skills, and conduct research on community challenges in alignment with sustainable development goals. The fellowship equips young individuals with research knowledge and skills, enabling them to contribute to decision-making processes, attract donors, and engage the public in sustainable development initiatives.

Phases of the Unisfere Research Fellowship for Afghanistan

The fellowship consists of two phases. In the first phase, participants will engage in online learning workshops, select their research topics, and develop a research proposal. These workshops aim to enhance the participants’ skills in relevant areas, which can benefit their future careers or educational plans. In the second phase, a smaller group of participants will be selected based on their applications, research topics, proposals, and performance in the first phase. These selected participants will conduct their research, write a research report, and defend their work in front of a panel of judges. Throughout the process, assigned mentors will provide guidance, supervise research progress, and offer instructions on the research writing process.

Publication and Recognition:

Research articles produced by the fellows during the second phase will be published in Unisfere’s Research Journal in both English and a local language in Afghanistan. The fellows’ profiles will also be featured, and the research findings will be shared across social media platforms to influence decision-makers and inspire sustainable change. Upon successful completion of the first phase, participants will receive a certificate of participation. Second-phase participants will receive an official link to their research published in Unisfere’s research journal, marking them as alumni and granting them access to future opportunities.
