About Company

The Margaret McNamara Education Grants (MMEG) is a nonprofit organization established in 1981 with the mission of supporting exceptional women from developing countries in their pursuit of higher education. The program was created in honor of Margaret Craig McNamara, an advocate for women’s empowerment and education, and the wife of former World Bank President Robert McNamara. Since its founding, MMEG has awarded grants to more than 350 women from over 75 countries, helping them gain the academic skills and knowledge needed to drive positive change in their communities.

MMEG focuses on women who are dedicated to improving the lives of women and children, particularly in sectors such as health, education, social development, and community leadership. The grants support students studying in accredited universities across the United States, Canada, France, South Africa, Latin America, and Trinity Washington University. The program prioritizes women who demonstrate strong academic potential, leadership qualities, and a deep commitment to serving others.

Beyond financial assistance, the MMEG community provides a network of global support, connecting recipients with mentors, peers, and professionals who share their vision for social impact. The grants empower women not only to complete their education but also to return to their home countries equipped to create meaningful, long-lasting change.
