EIT Digital, a Knowledge and Innovation The Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) runs the EIT Digital Master School through a network of 20+ top technical universities across Europe. The program funds two-year double-degree master’s studies in digital technology fields such as data science, cyber security, and fintech, and it is open to students of all nationalities. Successful applicants can receive full or half tuition fee waivers, with extra funding available for EU/EEA citizens in select tracks.

Scholarship Benefits

1. Tuition coverage: EIT Digital Scholarships offer a full (100%) or half (50%) tuition fee waiver. Standard tuition is 6,000 EUR/year for EU/EEA citizens and 18,000 EUR/year for non-EU/EEA citizens.
2. Living allowance: Scholarships of Excellence add a living allowance for eligible EU/EEA students on top of the full tuition waiver.
3. Travel support: Kick-off, summer school, and graduation are held in a different country each year, with travel costs partially sponsored by EIT Digital.
4. Two master’s diplomas plus an EIT certificate: graduates earn official degrees from both universities they study at, plus a certificate from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
5. Deferred tuition payment plan: eligible applicants can defer tuition payments until six months after graduation, spread over two years, through a partnership with the European Investment Fund.
6. Lifelong alumni network offering career support, job leads, and startup mentorship after graduation.

Scholarship Awards Summary

• EIT Digital Scholarships (General): Full or half tuition fee waiver. Open to all admitted students, tenable at any partner university in the network.
• Scholarships of Excellence: Full tuition fee waiver plus a living allowance, funded with support from the European Commission through the SPECTRO, EMAI4EU, RESCHIP4EU, ACHIEVE, and ARISE projects. Only for EU/EEA citizens applying to Autonomous Systems and Intelligent Robots, Cloud and Networking Infrastructure and HPC, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence with Affective Computing, Intelligent Chips and Systems, or Human-Computer Interaction and Design with Extended Reality.
• Partner-university top-ups (examples): Aalto University grant, 3,500 EUR/year, for students with active study rights at Aalto. BME Scholarship, up to 3,500 EUR/semester, for non-EU students at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. ELTE Scholarship, up to 2,000 EUR/year (EU/EEA) or 10,000 EUR/year plus a 1,000 EUR travel grant (non-EU/EEA), for FinTech and Data Science students at Eötvös Loránd University.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Hold a completed bachelor’s degree of at least 180 ECTS credits or an equivalent qualification from an internationally recognized university, in a field relevant to the chosen program.
2. Final-year bachelor’s students can apply for conditional acceptance with a letter from their university confirming enrollment and expected graduation date before the Master’s program starts.
3. Open to applicants of all nationalities. Non-EU citizens who need a residence permit should apply in Period 1 (opens 31 October, closes 11 February).
4. Degree equivalency: qualifications from longer technical programs equivalent to 180 ECTS are reviewed case by case.
5. Language of instruction: English, across all programs.
6. IELTS Academic: overall band score of at least 6.5, with no section below 6.0. Not accepted by Middle East Technical University (METU).
7. TOEFL iBT:
   • Total score of at least 92, with a minimum of 21 per section and 22 for writing.

8. English test waiver: available for applicants who completed a bachelor’s degree taught in English at a university physically located in the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
9. Some partner universities accept additional English tests or exemptions beyond IELTS/TOEFL; check the University-Specific Language Tests and Exemptions page for your chosen universities before applying.

• Submit your application through the official EIT Digital Master School online application portal. You must pay a non-refundable 75 EUR application fee at the time of submission; the application is invalid if this fee is not received by the deadline.
