The Margaret McNamara Educational Grants (MMEG) program offers financial support to exceptional women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in their communities. Applications are now open for the 2026 academic year across various regions including the US–Canada, South Africa, France, Latin America, and Trinity Washington University programs.
MMEG is a nonprofit, public charity established in 1981. Since its founding, it has supported more than 350 women from 75+ countries in pursuing higher education and contributing to social development.
The MMEG Grants 2026 support undergraduate, graduate, non-degree, and certificate-level studies in diverse fields such as science, humanities, business, engineering, medicine, education, languages, and more. The grants are partially funded and tailored to women who are actively enrolled in academic programs.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the MMEG Grants 2026, applicants must:

Be a self-identifying woman, at least 25 years old by the application deadline.

Hold citizenship in an eligible developing country (full list provided below).

Be officially enrolled (not just accepted) in an accredited academic institution during application.

Plan to enroll for a full semester after receiving the grant.

Expect to complete the degree within 2.5 years after receiving the award.

Not be affiliated with the World Bank Group, IMF, or Inter-American Development Bank.

Eligible Countries
The scholarship accepts applicants from low-income, lower-middle-income, and upper-middle-income economies, including:
