Overview

The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), Government of Bangladesh, has officially opened applications for foreign students seeking admission to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) programs for the academic session 2025–2026.

The program welcomes students from SAARC countries — including Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, India, Maldives, and Sri Lanka, as well as other regions across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Both government and non-government (private) medical and dental colleges in Bangladesh are accepting foreign applicants under the international student quota.

All documents and payments must be submitted before the deadline through the official DGME system or via the Bangladesh Embassy in your country.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for MBBS/BDS admission in Bangladesh, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed 12 years of education (equivalent to SSC & HSC / O & A Levels).
  • Must include Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as core subjects.
  • Minimum aggregate GPA of 7.0 (combined SSC & HSC).
  • Minimum GPA 3.5 in each individual examination.
  • Minimum GPA 3.5 in Biology (compulsory).
  • GPAs below 3.5 in any subject will not be accepted.
  • Academic documents must be attested by:
    • The relevant education board/authority
    • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
    • Bangladesh Embassy or High Commission in the applicant’s home country

GPA Calculation Method

  • Only three subjects are considered for GPA conversion: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Applicants should submit attested mark sheets from recognized education boards.
  • GPA equivalency is calculated as per DGME’s official formula.

Required Documents

Applicants must include clear and attested copies of the following:

  1. Academic certificates (SSC/O-Level, HSC/A-Level, or equivalent)
  2. Academic transcripts / mark sheets
  3. Valid passport copy (biometric page)
  4. Recent passport-size photographs
  5. Nationality certificate from a recognized authority
  6. Proof of application fee payment (TT/SWIFT slip)

Application Fee

  • USD 100 (non-refundable)
  • Payment must be made through TT (Telegraphic Transfer) or SWIFT to DGME’s designated account.
  • Proof of payment must be uploaded or submitted with the application.

Option 1 – Through Embassy

  • Submit your completed application and documents to the Bangladesh Embassy / High Commission in your home country.

Option 2 – Online Application

  • Apply directly through the DGME Online Portal
  • Make sure to attach all verified documents and payment proof before submission.
