Benefits of the Slovakia National Scholarship
The National Scholarship Program of Slovakia 2025 covers living expenses and travel grants:
- Master’s students: €620/month
- PhD students: €1,025.50/month
- University teachers, researchers, artists:
- Without PhD, < 4 years experience: €1,025.50/month
- With PhD, < 10 years experience: €1,370/month
- With PhD, > 10 years experience: €1,470/month
Travel Allowance (lump sum, based on distance):
- Up to 200 km → €0
- 200–300 km → €50
- 300–500 km → €100
- 500–1,000 km → €250
- 1,000–2,000 km → €350
- 2,000–3,000 km → €500
- 3,000–5,000 km → €750
- 5,000–7,000 km → €1,100
- Over 7,000 km → €1,500
Eligibility Criteria
A) University Students
- Must be studying outside Slovakia
- Must be Master’s students or have completed at least 2.5 years of university
- Must be accepted by a Slovak higher education institution
- Duration: 1–2 semesters (4–10 months) or 1–3 trimesters (3–10 months)
B) PhD Students
- Must be pursuing doctoral education abroad
- Must be accepted by a Slovak university or research institution
- Duration: 1–10 months
C) University Teachers, Researchers & Artists
- Must be invited by a Slovak institution with a valid R&D certificate
- Duration: 1–10 months
Not Eligible:
- Slovak citizens
- Applicants who spent 15+ months in Slovakia within the last 36 months
- Applicants funded by other public programs (e.g., Erasmus+)
