The Afghan Youth Education and Health Organization (AYEHO) is hiring Education Officers for its education and TLS (Temporary Learning Space) programs across multiple provinces. This full-time position aims to support the establishment, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of TLS activities funded by AYEHO and UNICEF.

Qualified Afghan male candidates with experience in education programs, community engagement, and humanitarian activities are invited to apply. Job Responsibilities

A. TLS Establishment, Implementation & Coordination

  • Establish, coordinate, and support implementation of TLS activities in assigned districts.

  • Ensure TLS sites operate according to workplans, MOE/UNICEF standards, and AYEHO guidelines.

  • Collaborate with SMS, DEDs, teachers, ETEs, and other stakeholders for quality outcomes.

B. Community Mobilization & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct community mobilization sessions to encourage enrollment and attendance.

  • Engage parents and community leaders to promote retention and child protection.

  • Maintain close coordination with DEDs, SMS, and local authorities.

  • Represent AYEHO in district-level education meetings and community platforms.

C. Monitoring, Supervision & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular field visits to TLS sites to monitor materials, attendance, engagement, WASH facilities, and safety.

  • Ensure TLS centers follow safeguarding, gender-sensitive, and child protection standards.

  • Identify and report risks, gaps, and protection concerns to the Regional Coordinator.

  • Monitor distribution of learning materials, teaching kits, and supplies.

D. Reporting, Data Management & Documentation

  • Collect, verify, and manage accurate data from TLS centers.

  • Prepare monthly progress reports for the Regional Coordinator.

  • Maintain complete documentation for monitoring visits by AYEHO, UNICEF, MOE, and external actors.

  • Document achievements, challenges, and success stories.

  • Familiarity with KOBO Toolbox is required.

E. Logistics, Compliance & Resource Management

  • Coordinate with logistics teams for timely delivery of TLS supplies, WASH materials, hygiene kits, and winterization items.

  • Ensure responsible use of project resources at the district level.

F. Safeguarding, PSEA & Accountability Responsibilities

  • Promote safeguarding, child protection, and gender-sensitive standards.

  • Ensure functional GRM and PSEA reporting pathways within communities.

  • Support installation of complaint boxes and awareness on reporting channels.

  • Ensure community awareness of zero-tolerance policies for exploitation and abuse.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in education programs or humanitarian work.

  • Experience with UNICEF-funded or EiE projects is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of TLS standards, safeguarding, and child protection.

  • Ability to conduct field visits in remote and challenging environments.

  • Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.

  • Fluency in Dari/Pashto and English.

  • Basic skills in MS Word and Excel.
