Overview of the ANSO Scholarship 2026

ANSO Scholarship: The Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), proudly announces the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents 2026.

This prestigious fully funded program aims to cultivate promising international scientists, researchers, and innovators by providing them with advanced education and training in China.

The ANSO Scholarship supports up to 200 Master’s students and 300 PhD candidates each year from developing and Belt & Road countries.

Scholarship Coverage and Benefits

The ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents 2026 provides full financial support, ensuring that students can focus entirely on their studies and research.

  • Full Tuition Waiver: no academic fees throughout the program.
  • Monthly Stipend:
    • Master’s students: RMB 3,000/month
    • PhD students: RMB 6,000–7,000/month
  • Health Insurance: comprehensive medical coverage during your stay in China.
  • Travel Allowance: one-time round-trip flight ticket between your home country and China.
  • Visa & Accommodation Assistance: provided by the host university.
  • Free Chinese language and cultural training (optional).

Note: Funding is renewable annually based on academic performance and supervisor evaluation.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the ANSO Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

For Master’s Applicants:

  • Must be non-Chinese citizens.
  • Born after January 1, 1996.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English or Chinese.
  • Must not be currently enrolled in a Master’s program in China.

For PhD Applicants:

  • Must be non-Chinese citizens.
  • Born after January 1, 1991.
  • Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English or Chinese.
  • Must not be currently enrolled in a PhD program in China.

Additional Requirements:

  • Submit two recommendation letters.
  • Provide a research proposal or study plan.
  • Upload academic transcripts, CV, and passport copy.
  • Applicants can apply either to UCAS or USTC (not both).

Selection Process

The selection process ANSO Scholarship is competitive and merit-based, focusing on:

Important Notes

  • Students must follow Chinese laws and university regulations.
  • Scholarship continuation depends on satisfactory yearly performance.
  • ANSO scholars are encouraged to participate in scientific events and community outreach activities.
  • Applicants already studying in China are not eligible for the same degree level.
