Program Overview

Alekain’s Claim Your Future Initiative is a transformative educational opportunity designed specifically for Afghan girls aged 16 and older who have completed middle school. Through a strategic partnership with Smart Schools International. A fully accredited online high school—participants can earn an internationally recognized high school diploma via a flexible, self-paced online learning platform.

This initiative is tailored to empower young women by providing access to high-quality secondary education, mentorship, mental health support, and the necessary technology to succeed. The program duration ranges from 11 to 22 months, and students are expected to dedicate a minimum of 25 hours per week to their studies.

Upon successful completion, graduates will receive an accredited high school diploma, significantly enhancing their eligibility for higher education and opening doors to future academic and professional opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Identify as an Afghan girl aged 16 or older
Currently reside in Afghanistan
Have completed middle school, or are in their final year
Demonstrate English language proficiency at the B2 level or higher. (Applicants with lower proficiency may be invited to reapply after improving their English skills)
Exhibit leadership potential and community involvement
AI tools are strictly prohibited when completing the application—submissions must reflect your authentic voice and experiences. Use of AI may result in disqualification or reduced competitiveness.

What You’ll Need to Submit

Please complete the online application form and upload the following supporting documents:

A current resume or CV (if available), listing education, volunteer work, or professional experience
School transcripts from your most recent three academic years.
A list of awards, honors, or certificates (e.g., letters of appreciation or recognition)
A summary of extra-curricular activities
A copy of your national ID or passport
A copy of one parent’s national ID or passport (mother or father)
Any additional documents or information that could strengthen your application

We understand that due to the situation in Afghanistan, you may not have access to all documents. Please submit whatever is available.

Selection Process & Timeline

Application Review – Initial review of applications based on eligibility and evidence of leadership/community engagement
English Language Evaluation – Selected applicants will be invited to take an English assessment to confirm language readiness
Interview Round – Short-listed candidates will participate in an online interview with the Alekain Foundation team
Final Selection – Finalists will be selected based on overall performance
Program Start – Classes are expected to begin in mid-December 2025

Parental Consent & Confidentiality

Participation in the program requires parental consent. Selected students and one parent will be asked to sign a consent form and a confidentiality agreement to help ensure the safety and privacy of all participants and Alekain partners in Afghanistan.
