Opportunity Brief Description:

The Government of Pakistan provides scholarships to Afghan youths for their skill development by offering high-quality education to 4500 students in various fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, and Computer Science.  Also different education levels such as Undergraduate studies, Master’s degree, and Ph.D.  The primary objective of this program is to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan and facilitate people-to-people connections between the neighboring countries. The Afghan scholarships will cover living allowances, book allowances, hostel dues, and university tuition fees. In the third phase of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship for Afghanistan, 1500 Afghan students will be selected each year to study in Pakistan on a fully funded scholarship. The selection process will be based on a merit-based written test conducted by the Pakistan Higher Education Commission (HEC).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Pakistan Scholarship for Afghan Youth:

Afghan nationals with a strong academic background are encouraged to apply. The applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Undergraduate:

  • Completion of 12 years or equivalent education.
  • Age limit: 17-23 years before the closing date of the application.
  • Minimum marks in Shahadatnama: 75% (Afghanistan) or 60% as per IBCC equivalency.
  • Medical and Engineering students must fulfill the PM&DC and PEC admission criteria of 65% and 60% respectively.

 Master’s degree and M.Phil.

  • Age limit: 35 years for non-faculty members and 40 years for faculty members.
  • Completion of 16 years of education.
  • Minimum 2.5 CGPA or equivalent out of 4.0 required in Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (16 years of education).

PhD:

  • Age limit: 35 years for non-faculty members and 40 years for faculty members.
  • Completion of 18 years of education (MS/MPhil degree).
  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA out of 4.0 required in MS/MPhil degree.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  1. Applicants must fill in the information through the online application process. Requests for amendments will not be entertained after the submission of the online application.
  2. Awardees are not allowed to hold any other scholarship/stipend during the fellowship period of their study.
  3. Candidates who are already availing of any other scholarship are not eligible to apply.
  4. The maximum age limit for undergraduate scholarships is 23 years.
  5. The 12th Grade exam should have been completed no later than 2018.

Interested candidates can apply online through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) website. TIt is important to ensure that all information provided is accurate and complete. Hard copy applications will not be accepted.
