First, Dalarna University in Sweden offers the Choose Dalarna First Scholarship, which gives every fee-paying international student a guaranteed 5,000 SEK reduction on first-semester tuition when they rank a Dalarna University master’s program as their first choice and gain admission.

Additionally, DalarHowever, this award provides partial funding rather than a full scholarship. Finally, Appna University places no limit on the number of awards. • Automatic award: no separate merit review once the three conditions are met
• Open to every eligible master’s applicant, with no cap on the number of recipients
• Available for both campus-based and online master’s programs for students starting in 2026 or later

Eligibility Criteria

• You must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland and therefore must pay tuition fees at Dalarna University.
• Additionally, you must apply to a Dalarna University master’s program and rank it as your first choice on UniversityAdmissions.se by the on-time application deadline.
• Furthermore, you must submit a separate scholarship application by September 15 for the spring intake or February 15 for the autumn intake.
• However, you can receive the scholarship even if Dalarna University admits you to a different master’s program from the one you ranked first.
• Finally, the scholarship does not cover bachelor’s programs or standalone courses and does not depend on financial need. The university assesses eligibility only according to the criteria above.

Language Requirements

• IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, with no section below 5.5
• TOEFL iBT: total score of 90, with a minimum of 20 on the written section

These are Dalarna University’s general English proficiency requirements for admission; some individual master’s programs set higher subject-specific scores. Many applicants are exempt if their prior education already meets the requirement. Programs are taught in English.

• First apply for admission to a Dalarna University master’s program through UniversityAdmissions. se and rank it as your first choice by the on-time deadline
• Then submit a separate Choose Dalarna First Scholarship application through Dalarna University’s own scholarship form
• The scholarship application for the January 2027 intake must be submitted by September 15, 2026
• No confirmation email is sent after submission; a confirmation screen appears once your application goes through
• Dalarna University will publish the list of qualifying admitted students by November 1, 2026 (for this spring intake)
