The Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Program (AKF ISP) 2026 is a highly competitive postgraduate scholarship for outstanding students from selected developing countries who have no other means of financing their education. Established in 1969 by His Late Highness Aga Khan IV, this program has supported over 1,500 scholars worldwide.
The scholarship is awarded through a global, annual, and competitive selection process. Only a limited number of new scholarships are offered each year. The 2026 application cycle will open in January 2026.
The program gives priority to Master’s degree studies, while PhD applications are considered only in exceptional cases where a doctoral degree is essential for the applicant’s career goals.
