Opportunity Description
The Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarships, funded by the Pershing Square Foundation in partnership with the University of Oxford, are designed to support up to five exceptional students each year. Recipients enroll in Oxford’s 1+1 MBA programme, which combines a one-year Master’s degree (from a partnering department) with the Oxford MBA at Saïd Business School.
Scholars are individuals with strong academic credentials, leadership potential, and a vision for scalable and sustainable social impact.
As part of the scholarship, recipients engage with a vibrant scholar community, receive mentorship, access exclusive forums and conferences, and may be invited to a “spring trek” to New York hosted by the Pershing Square Foundation.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be admitted to both:
- A 1+1 MBA partnering Master’s programme, and
- The Oxford MBA. Waiting-list candidates are not eligible.
- Or fall into one of these priority groups:
- Applicants accepted into each of a full-time, one-year Master’s and the MBA.
- Current Master’s students.
- Demonstrate strong academic achievement.
- Show leadership potential, personal integrity, and a commitment to social change.
- Have a clear vision for addressing world-scale social challenges with scalable, sustainable solutions.
- Be able to articulate how the 1+1 MBA will help them achieve their social and professional objectives.
Required Documents
Applicants typically need to submit:
- Academic transcripts and certificates from prior degrees.
- GMAT or GRE scores.
- English language test scores- per Oxford’s graduate admissions requirements (IELTS, TOEFL). .
- A CV / résumé.
- A personal statement or motivation letter.
- Recommendation letters.
- Scholarship essay (maximum 500 words), submitted in the “Funding” section of the MBA application. The essay prompt is:
- “How do you intend to change the world, and what does this tell us about you as a person?”
- A copy of a valid passport / ID.
Application Procedure
- Apply for the Master’s programme of your choice (one of the 1+1 MBA partner departments), by its own admission deadline (often December or January).
- Apply for the Oxford MBA, selecting the “1+1 MBA” track, by the MBA application deadline (7 January 2026).
- In the MBA application, go to the “Funding” section and upload your Pershing Square scholarship essay (≤ 500 words).
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted in early April.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview (around late April / early May).
- Selection: Final decisions announced in spring.
