The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is Deakin’s most prestigious international award, designed to attract high-performing students from all around the world. It recognizes academic excellence, leadership potential, and community impact.
Successful applicants may receive either:
- 100% Tuition Fee Waiver for the entire duration of the chosen program, or
- 50% Tuition Fee Waiver, depending on academic merit and available funding.
In addition, recipients join the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP)- a unique leadership and career-development initiative that helps students grow as global professionals.

Note: Doctoral (PhD) and research programs are not covered under this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international student (not an Australian citizen or permanent resident).
- Meet the entry requirements for their chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
- Have achieved an average of at least 85% (or equivalent) in previous studies.
- Meet Deakin’s English language requirements, such as:
- IELTS overall 6.5 (no band below 6.0), or
- TOEFL iBT 79, or equivalent.
- Be enrolling in a course commencing in Trimester 1, 2, or 3 of 2026.
- Not already be enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (H911) program.
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and upload the following documents along with their scholarship application:
- Completed Scholarship Application Form (available on Deakin’s website)
- Academic Transcripts and grading scale (translated into English if necessary)
- Passport copy or proof of citizenship
- Personal Statement (approximately 300 words) addressing:
- Your motivation to study at Deakin University
- Your leadership experience and achievements
- How you will contribute to the Deakin community as an ambassador
- Two Reference Letters from:
- Academic supervisors or professors
- Community leaders or employers (attesting to your leadership and impact)
- Evidence of English Proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE results)
