Overview of KATIP Turkish Language Program 2026

The KATIP Turkish Language Program 2026 invites international students, scholars, diplomats, and public officials to participate in an immersive Turkish language and cultural experience in Turkey. Organized by YTB, this fully funded 8-month program offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of Turkish language, culture, and society.

Participants will benefit from fully covered expenses, including airfare, accommodation, a monthly stipend, and program training fees, making it a completely scholarship-funded program.

Objectives of the KATIP Program

The KATIP Turkish Language Program aims to:

  1. Enable diplomats, scholars, and public officials to immerse themselves in Turkish language and culture.
  2. Offer participants a rich cultural experience with visits to Istanbul, Konya, Çanakkale, and other historical sites.
  3. Organize seminars with renowned professors and visits to Turkish ministries, institutions, and think tanks.
  4. Strengthen international relations between Turkey and participants’ home countries.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to apply for the fully funded KATIP Turkish Language Program 2026:

  • Must not be a Turkish citizen or resident at the time of application
  • Have three or more years of professional experience in a relevant institution (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred)
  • Applicants must either hold a Ph.D. or be working towards one and be employed at a university or research center. Preference is given to candidates in Turkish studies
  • Proficiency in English (speaking and listening)
  • Age: Under 40 as of January 1, 2025
