Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the WTO Internship 2026, you must:
- Be a citizen of a WTO member country or a country/customs territory engaged in WTO accession negotiations
- Be between 21 and 30 years old at the time of the internship
- Have completed at least one year of postgraduate studies or be in the final stages of your undergraduate degree
- Hold a degree in a relevant field such as Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Trade Law, etc.

Eligibility Criteria
Must Be :
- Must be a national of a least-developed country (LDC) & developing WTO member/ an observer engaged in accession negotiations (list of countries)
- To be have completed yours undergraduate studies in a relevant discipline ( economics, law, political science, international relations e.g.), & to be have completed at least one year of yours postgraduate studies
- Must be no older than 30 years.

Types of WTO Internship Programs
The WTO offers three distinct internship tracks:
1. WTO Internship Programme
Open to postgraduate students from all WTO member and observer nations. Work under professional staff in diverse trade-related fields.
2. China WTO Accessions & General Internship Programmer
Funded by the Government of China, this program targets applicants from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and developing countries to support WTO accession efforts.
3. WTO Support Programme for Doctoral Studies (Ph.D. Internship)
For Ph.D. candidates from developing or LDC member countries to advance their thesis and receive expert mentorship at the WTO.
Internship Timeline
There is no fixed deadline or start date. Applications are accepted year-round. Internships are offered on a rolling basis depending on organizational needs and candidate availability. Selected candidates are added to a roster valid for up to one year.
