Benefits of Turkey Scholarships

These fully-funded scholarships provide the following benefits to students:

  • Health insurance
  • Full tuition fee coverage
  • University and program placement
  •  Monthly stipend of 1700Turkish Lira (TL) for bachelor’s students,
  • 2400 TL for master’s degree students, 1800 TL
  • for Ph.D. students, and 3000 TL for research scholarships (full-time)
  • One-year free Turkish language training course and accommodation
  • Single-round travel costs to and from Turkey

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Possess the citizenship of any country except Turkey.
  • Graduates or those who will graduate at the end of the current academic year (before August 2023)
  • Hold a degree or anticipate graduating by the end of the current academic year.
  • Engaged in research or academic pursuits.
  • Fulfill the health criteria.
  • Meet the language proficiency standards.
  • Age Criteria
    • For undergraduate programs: being under the age of 21
    • For master’s programs: being under the age of 30
    • For PhD programs: being under the age of 35
    • For Research Scholarship: being under the age of 50
  • Have successfully completed or are expected to graduate from an educational institution with the following academic accomplishments:
  • Minimum Academic Achievement
    • For undergraduate candidates: 70%
    • For graduate candidates: 75%
    • For candidates of Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy): 90%

Required Documentation

All applicants are required to submit the following documents through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS) online:

  •  Online application form
  • Valid identification card or passport
  • Recent photograph (captured within the past year)
  • Results of national exams (if applicable)
  • Diploma or provisional graduation certificate
  • Academic transcripts from previous studies
  • International exam results, such as TOEFL, DELF, GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc. (if requested by the chosen university or program)
  • Research proposal on a specific topic (only for Ph.D. applications)
  • Written sample of the applicant’s research work (only for Ph.D. applications)

Please note:* that awardees who still need to prove C1 Level Certificate for the Turkish language must attend a 1-year Turkish Language Course and obtain the C1 Level Certificate by the end of their academic year.

Selection Process:

The selection committee will evaluate Turkey Scholarship applications based on the candidate’s academic success, motivation, and social activities related to their chosen field. The selection process involves the following steps:

  1. Preliminary Assessment:

Applications must meet essential criteria, including minimum academic achievement, age limits, and required documents.

Expert Evaluation: The Expert Committee will assess eligible candidates based on various criteria, including academic status, interests, career goals, previous qualifications, participation in social activities, and the content of the letter of intent. Successful applicants will proceed to the interview process.

Tests: Candidates in fields such as science, health sciences, social sciences, and engineering, which receive a significant number of applications, will take a 30-question quantitative test before the interview session. The test focuses on geometry, mathematics, and logic for undergraduate candidates and is conducted by the Presidential Delegations. Interview: Academics and experts will conduct interviews to select candidates for the final list. The interview typically lasts 15-30 minutes and covers topics such as the candidate’s application purpose, career goals, academic knowledge, and questions from the candidate to the committee.

Final Assessment: The selection committee will evaluate the results of the interviews and create a list of scholarship recipients. At this stage, the general eligibility of candidates for Turkey Scholarships will be assessed.
