Job Description

The Translator (English to Pashto) will be responsible for accurate, clear, and professional translation of official bank documents, policies, regulations, procedures, plans, and correspondence. The goal is to ensure correct understanding and implementation of BMA’s official documents across the institution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Translate all official banking documents from English to Pashto.

• Review and edit translated materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of terminology.

• Maintain the Bank’s formal tone and administrative style in all translations.

• Coordinate with departments and branches to obtain necessary clarification before translating.

• Provide verbal translation/interpretation during official meetings and workshops when needed.

• Organize and maintain electronic and printed records of all translated documents.

• Ensure full confidentiality and integrity of all financial and official information.

• Submit regular progress reports to relevant departments and management.

• Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pashto/Dari/English Literature, Translation, or related fields.

• Full proficiency in English and Pashto (reading, writing, and speaking).

• Strong writing and editing skills in formal Pashto.

• Familiarity with banking, financial, and economic terminology.

• Ability to use computer programs effectively (Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF tools).

• High level of accuracy, focus, and ability to meet translation deadlines.

• Good communication skills, cooperation, and professionalism.

• Commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and integrity.

• Previous translation experience in official, banking, or financial institutions is an advantage.
