Job Description
Position Summary
The National Sales Manager will oversee and coordinate sales activities across Kabul, Mazar, and Herat, managing distributor partnerships and leading sales teams operating in these key markets.
Core Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to achieve revenue goals, expand retail and wholesale reach, and establish long-term, efficient distribution networks for FMCG products.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, develop, and supervise 3 Territory Sales Managers and 9 Sales Representatives
- Manage and negotiate agreements with distributors and wholesalers in all assigned cities
- Define monthly sales targets by city, distributor, and SKU
- Track daily sales performance and monitor inventory movement
- Conduct weekly performance reviews and regular field visits
- Create and implement sales incentive schemes and promotional activities
- Monitor competitor activity and adjust pricing strategies accordingly
- Map retail outlets and identify new sales channels for expansion
Job Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 5 years of FMCG sales experience in Afghanistan
- Proven experience managing multi-city sales teams of 10 or more staff
- Existing distributor network in Kabul, Mazar, and Herat (considered a strong advantage)
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets
- Experience working with ambient FMCG products such as dairy, sauces, snacks, and beverages
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto, along with English
