The 2026 NUS Young Fellowship Programme is a prestigious month-long initiative organized by the NUS Graduate School and the NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education. Designed for talented young scholars from around the world, it offers an immersive experience to explore NUS’s world-class research facilities and postgraduate opportunities.

The programme focuses on the theme ‘AI and Graduate Research,’ allowing participants to engage with leading faculty, connect with global peers, and gain insights into academic excellence. Participants will benefit from visits to cutting-edge research labs and iconic local attractions in Singapore.

The structure includes one week of face-to-face lectures and workshops led by NUS professors and researchers, followed by three weeks of online tutorials and hands-on practice culminating in project presentations. Full participation is required, including the 5-day on-site event and all online sessions, to qualify for the travel allowance. This fully funded opportunity is complimentary, with no application or programme fees. Participants are responsible for their own meals (estimated SGD 10-15 per meal), personal expenses, and airfare to and from Singapore.

  • – A personal statement or reflective essay (maximum 1,000 words) addressing either: a research area of strong personal interest and its anticipated development, or a current social issue of significant personal relevance with insights on potential resolutions.
  • – Academic transcript (optional but highly recommended).
  • – Two letters of recommendation (optional but strongly encouraged, preferably from faculty members attesting to academic and research potential).
  • – A passport-size photo. Ensure all documents are uploaded in the specified format through the application portal.
