Aga Khan Health Services–Afghanistan (AKHS-A) is seeking qualified and disciplined candidates for the position of Guard at the Regional Office in Kabul. This full-time security role involves ensuring safety and protection of staff, visitors, and organizational assets, as well as maintaining office security procedures in accordance with AKHS-A policies.

AKHS-A is one of the largest non-profit health systems in the region, operating across Afghanistan to deliver essential primary and secondary healthcare services. This opportunity is suitable for male national applicants with at least two years of security experience and a high school diploma (12th-grade completion).

Job Responsibilities

The Guard will perform the following tasks:

  • Maintain respectful behavior and strong cooperation with staff.
  • Ensure safety of employees, office property, and assets.
  • Provide security inside and around the office premises.
  • Monitor and guard office entrance doors; guide visitors to relevant departments.
  • Stay present near the main office entry at all times.
  • Register all visitors before allowing entry.
  • Patrol surrounding areas and report suspicious persons or objects to administrative/security supervisors.
  • Conduct body searches of suspicious individuals before office entry.
  • Prevent unauthorized access without permission from senior office authorities.
  • Ensure the availability of fuel and gas for official use at all times.
  • Keep office and guesthouse (inside and outside) clean and organized.
  • Make sure water tanks are full and water systems function properly.
  • Inspect gas cylinders, heaters, and ensure all equipment is turned off when staff are absent.
  • Operate the generator according to the schedule and maintain the logbook properly.
  • Prepare tea for staff or guests when the cook is absent, based on supervisor instructions.
  • Follow AKHS-A security procedures and guidelines strictly.
  • Professionally safeguard belongings of staff and office guests.
  • Maintain confidentiality; breach of official information may lead to contract termination.
  • Refrain from watching TV or listening to radio during working hours.
  • Always carry the office ID card while on duty.
  • Bring generator fuel from fuel stations when instructed.
  • Dispose of office waste in designated areas.
  • Light wood heaters in office rooms as needed.
  • Prepare and supply firewood to office rooms.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum two years of work experience in a related security role.
  • Possession of a 12th-grade school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to read, write, report, and perform physical and mental tasks.
  • Certificates related to security training are considered an advantage.
