Are you a young female scientist passionate about biosecurity, biosafety, and global peace?
The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) in Geneva has announced a special edition of the Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship Programme to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).
This unique fellowship will bring together 10 outstanding young women from the Global South to strengthen their expertise and leadership in biosecurity. Participants will take part in online interactive workshops and later join a five-day field visit to Geneva during the Seventh Meeting of the BWC Working Group.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Identify as female
- Be under 35 years old at the time of applying
- Hold citizenship of a BWC State Party listed as a Least Developed, Low-, or Middle-Income country (OECD DAC list)
- Possess at least a Master’s degree in life sciences or related fields
- Have minimum 3 years’ professional experience in biosecurity, life sciences, disarmament, or emerging technologies
- Be currently working in a relevant field (laboratory, research, policy, etc.)
- Be proficient in English (proof required)
- Be fully available for all programmer activities (online + field visit)
