Global Development Fellowship at Imperial College London (UK)

Applications are now open for the Global Development Fellowship 2025–26 at Imperial College London, one of the world’s leading research universities.
This fellowship offers a short-term research placement (2–4 months) for a PhD student from a Least Developed Country (LDC) or Lower-Middle Income Country (LMIC), providing an excellent opportunity to engage in high-impact global development research in the United Kingdom.

Fellowship Overview

The Global Development Fellowship aims to strengthen global collaboration in sustainable development research by supporting talented PhD candidates to work alongside Imperial’s world-class academics and research teams.

Selected fellows will have the chance to:

  • Work on cutting-edge research projects addressing global challenges
  • Collaborate with leading experts and research groups at Imperial College London
  • Gain valuable international research experience
  • Build long-term academic partnerships and networks

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Global Development Fellowship 2025–26, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a PhD student at a recognized institution.
  • Hold citizenship and permanent residence in a Least Developed Country (LDC) or Lower-Middle Income Country (LMIC).
  • Have already contacted an Imperial College London supervisor who agrees to host the fellow.
  • Provide all supporting documentation, including:
    • Letter of support from the Imperial host supervisor
    • Letter of support from the home supervisor

Note: Applications submitted without prior supervisor contact and required documentation will not be considered by the review panel.
