Mohammad Hussain Taqwa Wins Gold at CK Classic 2025

Mohammad Hussain Taqwa-Afghan Athlete

Congratulations to the Champion – Mohammad Hussain Taqwa! 🇦🇫

Despite the immense challenges and adversity faced in Afghanistan, Mohammad Hussain Taqwa pursued his passion for taekwondo with unwavering determination, discipline, and perseverance. His dedication has not only earned him national recognition but now international glory as well.

Like many talented young Afghans, Mohammad was forced to leave his homeland due to the drastic political shifts in the country. He migrated to Malaysia, facing the pain of separation, the weight of uncertainty, and the hardships of starting over in a foreign land.

Yet, Mohammad did not surrender to despair. With his relentless work ethic, deep passion for sports, and unbreakable will, he continued to train — proving to the world that hope and resilience know no borders.

A Golden Victory on the Global Stage

On July 11, 2025, in the 17th CK Classic International Open Taekwondo Championship held in Malaysia, Mohammad participated in the Under-17 Youth Category and proudly secured the Gold Medal, representing migrants and his host organization with pride and strength.

But that wasn’t the end of his journey — on July 12, 2025, in the Juniors Category, Mohammad won a Silver Medal, adding another accolade to his remarkable career. His achievements brought joy and honor not just to himself but to his family, his coaches, and the entire Afghan sports-loving community around the world.

A Heartfelt Tribute to Coaches and Family

This triumph is also a tribute to the dedicated efforts of his current coaches in Malaysia, Fahim Baraki and Sanaullah Baraki, whose mentorship and commitment have played a key role in shaping his success abroad.

We also pay deep respect to his first mentor in Afghanistan, Master Rahmat Alizadah, who laid the foundation for Mohammad’s taekwondo journey and instilled in him both athletic skill and strong moral values.

Special appreciation goes to his supportive family, especially his father, Mohammad Taqi Taqwa, a model of patience and unconditional support, who has always stood firmly by his side — through every challenge, every victory, and every step of the journey.

A Message of Hope Through Sport

As a refugee athlete, Mohammad’s success carries a message far beyond medals. His journey embodies the spirit of all Afghan youth who, despite displacement, keep dreaming, fighting, and winning.

At just 17 years old, Mohammad already holds multiple national medals from Afghanistan and a Bronze Medal from Uzbekistan, and now, two new medals- Gold and Silver from Malaysia. Competing under the banner of refugee organizations, he has become a powerful symbol of perseverance and pride for Afghanistan.

More Than a Win- A National Inspiration
