The Romanian government Scholarship will be open undergraduate, graduate students for the 2025 year academics.

Application Status and Timeline

  • Application Deadline: 12 March 2025
  • Result Announcement: 30 June 2025
  • Academic Year Start: 1 October 2025

 Covered Degree Programs 

  • Bachelor’s: 3–6 years
  • Master’s: 1–2 years
  • PhD: 3–5 years

 General Conditions 

  • Target Group: International students from non-EU countries.
  • Minimum Academic Requirement: Equivalent of a 7/10 GPA in Romania’s grading system or a “Good” score.
  • Language of Instruction:
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s: Romanian (a one-year preparatory Romanian language course is available).
  • PhD: Programs may be in English or other foreign languages.
  • Excluded Fields: All fields except Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dental Medicine.

 Exemption from Romanian Language Preparatory Course 

Applicants are exempt if they meet one of the following:

  • Submit proof of at least 4 consecutive years of study in Romanian.
  • Pass a Romanian language proficiency test.
  • Provide a Romanian language certificate (minimum B1 level).

 Scholarship Benefits 

  • Covered Costs:
    • Tuition fees for the preparatory language course and degree program.
    • Accommodation in university dormitories (subsidized by the Ministry of Education).
    • Study visa fees.
  • Monthly Stipend:
    • Bachelor’s: 65 EURO
    • Master’s: 75 EURO
    • PhD: 85 EURO
  • Additional Benefits:
    • Emergency medical assistance.
    • Access to local public transportation (same as Romanian students).

 Ineligibility Criteria 

  • Romanian citizens or members of Romanian historical communities.
  • Individuals under state protection or with residency permits in Romania.
  • Stateless persons recognized under Romanian law.
  • Staff of diplomatic missions, international organizations in Romania, or their family members.
  • Current beneficiaries of other Romanian government scholarships.

 Required Documents 

  • Translated copies of academic diplomas (high school, Bachelor’s, Master’s) in English/French/Romanian/Spanish.
  • Birth certificate or equivalent.
  • Copy of passport or national ID.
  • CV in English or French.
  • PhD Applicants: Letter of Intent.
  • Additional Documents (if applicable):
  • Name change certificate.
  • Proof of ongoing studies (for final-year students).
  • Certificate of Romanian language proficiency.
  • Parental consent for applicants under 18.
  • Necessary document
